Hi, I’m Laura—a licensed therapist and the founder of Meadowlark Therapy. I created this practice to offer mothers a compassionate therapeutic space to explore the complexities of parenthood and rediscover their inner strength.
I specialize in perinatal mental health, supporting mothers and parents through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I understand how overwhelming this time can be—the anxiety, the loss of self, and the deep love you feel for your child, mixed with the grief and vulnerability that come with watching your heart live outside of your body. Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also messy, exhausting, and at times, deeply isolating.
This work is personal to me. As a mother, I know the immense challenges that come with navigating this transformation. I also recognize that not everyone’s journey to motherhood looks the same. Whether you’re yearning to become a parent, facing the heartbreak of miscarriage or infertility, or grieving the loss of a child, your pain is welcome here. Therapy offers a space to lay it all out—the love, the grief, the fear, and the joy—and to find the support you need to heal and reconnect with yourself.
My approach blends empathy with actionable tools to help you navigate the challenges you’re facing. Drawing from my background in Adlerian therapy, mindfulness, and somatic interventions, I help clients reconnect with themselves and their inner resilience.
I often begin working with mothers by addressing the symptoms that brought them to therapy—such as anxiety, depression, grief, self-doubt, or self-criticism. Using a blend of therapeutic modalities, my clients often notice a reduction in these symptoms with consistent work. But the true transformation happens once the symptoms subside. At this stage, we can delve deeper into the issues that help you move from simply surviving to truly thriving. Together, we’ll explore past traumas, relationship challenges, unhelpful patterns, or difficulties with primary attachment figures. With this deeper focus, I help my clients move beyond survival, guiding them toward a life where they feel empowered, fulfilled, and flourishing.
When I’m not in session, I’m a mom of two and someone who appreciates the messy beauty of life. I know firsthand the healing power of pausing, reflecting, and creating space for yourself amidst the chaos. My creative outlet is at the potter’s wheel! I spend my Saturday mornings making ceramic coffee mugs and vases-- becoming immersed in the process of creating something beautiful out of a mess of clay.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to start, I want you to know you don’t have to feel it alone. Let’s work together to create lasting change and help you feel more grounded, whole, and connected.
